About Pamela Gordon MD

My Mission

I help women FEEL HEARD, and use a functional medicine approach to get to the ROOT CAUSE of hormonal symptoms so that they can FEEL LIKE THEMSELVES AGAIN.

I've Been There, Myself!

In my 20s, I likely struggled with undiagnosed PCOS and hypothyroidism and didn't know it. My periods were irregular, I had excess hair growth, intense carb cravings, erratic energy levels, and was constantly monitoring my weight. It wasn’t until I was 31 that I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease—after my brain fog became so severe that I could barely focus at work. At the time, I was serving in the military and was referred to the on-base psychiatrist, who initially suspected ADHD but wisely decided to check my thyroid function too. A simple TSH test revealed the real issue.

Getting on the right medication helped, but it took years of ongoing energy struggles for me to truly learn how to manage my condition. That journey is what led me to integrative and functional medicine.

Then, in my mid-40s, everything shifted again. My energy and libido plummeted, my joints ached constantly, and even making it to the gym felt like a monumental effort. Although my periods were still happening, they were no longer normal. I took matters into my own hands—completing my own hormone testing, working closely with a trusted gynecologist to start bio-identical hormones, and supporting my adrenal health—and I finally began to feel like myself again, even a younger version of myself.

I often think about how much easier my journey would have been if I had had the right guidance from the beginning. This is why I'm so passionate about helping other women who are walking a similar path—because you don't have to figure it all out alone.

About Dr. Gordon

I am a board-certified holistic family physician with 24 years of experience. I completed my medical degree at MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, and my residency in family medicine through the USAF National Capital Consortium. I served as a family physician and flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force for eight years and am a proud combat veteran.

After leaving the military—fatigued from both years of service and the effects of hypothyroidism—I became deeply interested in more integrative approaches to healing. This personal journey led me to study both functional and Ayurvedic medicine. I trained for four years at the California College of Ayurvedic Medicine, becoming a Certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. In addition, I have pursued training through the Institute for Functional Medicine and am completing advanced study in Dr. Aviva Romm’s Functional & Integrative Medicine Training Program.

Since 2009, I have also practiced yoga & meditation, which continues to influence my approach to healing and wellness.

In working with patients, I aim to meet each person where they are. I believe the most effective path to healing is often the most elegant—one that avoids unnecessary complexity, excessive testing, or prescribing large amounts of supplements. My approach is simple, supportive, and rooted in a blend of ancient wisdom and modern science.
